The reporter receives information from the dirt-dam project of the Tuandao drainage area that the large scale dirt-dam project for the front sea is carried out fluently. At present, modification work for 112 roads has been finished and another 27 roads will be started this year assuring that the project can be completely finished. After that there will be 50000 tons waste liquid to be transferred to the city planning pipeline, then the western part of the front sea and the area of the back sea will be cleaner including the Huiquan Bay.

Man at the wheel in related department of the city planning public bureau said that dirt-dam project of the Tuandao drainage area is one of the infrastructure construction subsidiary item for the 2008 Olympics Sailing Competition. This drainage area includes open furrow and the underdrain of the back sea system, front sea system and water system of Changle road. Since starting in 2002, 190 million Yuan has been invested with the achievement of rain water and waste liquid pipe modification work of the 112 roads, such as Jiangsu Road and Daxue Road. At present, about 30000 tons waste liquid per day are dammed to transfer to Tuandao effluent treatment factory to be collectively treated.

Relevant engineer told the reporter that in the process of construction, blowdown piping with large aperture is adopted, many blowdown problems that have long affected the normal living of the residents have been solved to let the living waste liquid be discharged fluently, for instance blowdown piping is paved for some residents living in the Guizhou Road, Mingyuexia Road and Second Tuandao Road.

At present, rain water and waste liquid pipe modification work of the eight roads, such as Sifang Road and Huangdao Road, will start. At the same time, the dirt-dam pipe of the left 19 roads left by the whole Tuandao Dirt-dam project will be modified at the beginning of this year and will be completely finished by the end of June. At that time, there will no waste liquid in the whole Tuandao drainage area to be directly discharge into the sea. According to the survey, waste liquid volume per day in this drainage area is 50000 tons. The dirt-dam project will transfer all of the waste liquid that are discharged by open furrow and the underdrain to the waste liquid pipeline managed by city planning and then they will be sent to the Tuandao effluent treatment factory to be collectively treated.
